Technology Recommendations
and Solutions

» Technology Recommendations and Specifications
Recommendations and specifications for entering and current
    professional education students.
» Technology Classrooms
The College of Education supports several high-technology,
fully-mediated classrooms to help pre-service teachers master
skills using new digital technologies. These rooms include visual
presenters, digital projectors, smart boards, VCR and DVD
players, in addition to networked computers. A college-wide
wireless network allows students and faculty to join the internet
at any location within Bluemont Hall.
» Interactive Video Conferencing
The College of Education maintains two video conferencing
solutions helping faculty and students communicate in near
face-to-face environments around the globe. These two
solutions– PolyCom® and Adobe Connect™– enhance
many of the College’s instructional and research activities.
» Asynchronous Distance Learning
In developing a distance learning initiative, the College of
Education has made a significant commitment to K-State Online
as a tool for instruction. Faculty and students share lessons,
assignments, and documents while participating in learning
activities from on or off campus locations.
» The Catalyst
The hub of the College’s technology learning environment is the
Catalyst. Located on the lower level of Bluemont Hall, this space
is designed to give students access to digital learning tools in a
pleasant, collaborative work environment. Students can use
technology equipment and access skilled and knowledgeable
technology support while working in an area supporting the
College’s commitment to diversity, the Midwest Equity
    Assistance Center (MEAC) Library.
